MATTRESS MAKING 101
Learn Before You Buy!
Buying a new mattress is a necessity, and yet a very exhausting experience at times. How often have we purchased something only to find out the quality didn't meet our expectations?
THE BUCK STOPS HERE!
At Spencer's Ventura County Mattress Factory, we make your beds right here, near you. WHen you visit our factory or showroom, you will be taken through a step-by-step process on how a real, QUALITY mattress is made. If that doesn't pique your interest, you can always make an appointment to help build your won mattress with Spencer!
When we build your mattress, there are two key points to take into account:
RULE #1: SUPPORT
Mattress support systems are known to be either springs (coils), foam (polyurethane), natural foam rubber or air pouches. Individually wrapped spring coils are still known to be the most durable and supportive of the standard support systems in a bed. Great coils are tested and rated to last 20 years. A decent polyurethane foam system may last around 10 years and air mattresses start leaking as soon as 3 years into your ownership. The strongest of all materials is a latex foam rubber support system - and these can last up to 30 YEARS while being comfortable and durable all the same.
RULE #2 COMFORT or FILLING
Filling varies in all types of modern mattresses. While mos big brands will be using cheaper polyurethane foams (memory foam included), these fams tend to break down fairly quickly. This leaves you uncomfortable on your new bed faster than a horse takes off from the gate! Unfortunately, cases such as this are a dime a dozen and only get worse as large manufacturers do whatever they can to pinch pennies. The problem is that only half of the bed is actually broken down! The springs are usually just fine and still supportive.
As manufacturers of quality sleep products, Spencer's Ventura County Mattress Factory remedies this problem by adding different types of "filling" materials to the mix. We use cottons, wools in thinner layers such as still to work with our support systems properly. These natural materials pack down, reinforcing themselves and add to the overall support of your mattress. Cheap polyurethane foams break down giving you the sinking sensation you've come to despise.
-To summarize a good mattress-
THE COMFORT LAYERS PUT YOU TO SLEEP AND THE SUPPORT SYSTEM KEEPS YOU ASLEEP!
This is a lot of information, but it is very critical in finding a mattress that will take care of you and your family for years to come.
Respectfully,
